Prohibited Materials on ReciGo
For safety, legality, and environmental protection, certain materials are prohibited on ReciGo. This guide explains what you cannot transport and why.
š« Strictly Prohibited Materials
ā¢ļø Hazardous Waste
Completely prohibited to transport:
ā Chemicals and toxic substances
- Strong acids and bases
- Solvents and thinners
- Pesticides and insecticides
- Concentrated industrial cleaning products
- Mercury (old thermometers)
- Asbestos
ā Flammable materials
- Gasoline, diesel, kerosene
- Butane/propane gas (canisters)
- High-proof alcohol (>70%)
- Pressurized aerosols in large quantities
- Pyrotechnics and fireworks
ā Radioactive materials
- Old smoke detectors (americium)
- Medical instruments with radioactive material
- Any material marked with radiation symbol
ā Biological waste
- Medical waste (needles, used bandages)
- Hospital waste
- Blood or bodily fluids
- Bacterial cultures
- Dead animals
Important: Transporting hazardous waste without authorization is a criminal offense. Fines up to ā¬600,000 and prison time.
If you have hazardous waste, take it to a recycling center or contact your local municipality.
š« Weapons and Explosives
ā Completely prohibited:
- Firearms (even deactivated)
- Ammunition and explosives
- Bladed weapons (swords, large knives)
- Air guns
- Realistic weapon replicas
- Weapon components
Exception: Work tools (hammers, screwdrivers) are permitted.
š Drugs and Illegal Substances
ā Completely prohibited:
- Illegal drugs of any type
- Prescription medications in large quantities
- Controlled substances
- Related paraphernalia
Personal medications: Permitted in reasonable quantities for personal use.
š° Cash and Valuables
ā Not permitted to transport:
- Large amounts of cash (>ā¬1,000)
- High-value jewelry (>ā¬5,000)
- Valuable artwork
- Original legal documents (deeds, wills)
- Precious metals (gold, silver bars)
Reason: ReciGo doesn't have insurance for high-value items. Use specialized valuable transport services.
š¾ Live Animals
ā Generally prohibited:
- Pets (dogs, cats, birds)
- Exotic animals
- Livestock
- Insects or reptiles
Exception: You can agree with the helper to transport pets in a carrier, but:
- Must be clearly stated in job description
- Helper must explicitly accept
- Full responsibility on customer
- ReciGo insurance doesn't apply
š Perishable Food
ā Not recommended:
- Food requiring refrigeration
- Hot food
- Frozen products
- Fresh meat or fish
- Unrefrigerated dairy products
Reason: Helpers don't have refrigerated vehicles. Risk of spoilage and health issues.
Permitted:
- ā Non-perishable packaged foods
- ā Bottled beverages
- ā Dry products (pasta, rice, etc.)
ā ļø Restricted Materials (With Conditions)
š Batteries
Permitted with precautions:
- ā AA, AAA, C, D batteries (alkaline)
- ā Phone/laptop batteries (inside device)
- ā Car batteries (if well packaged)
Requirements:
- Package individually
- Protect terminals with electrical tape
- Don't mix new and used batteries
- Clearly inform the helper
Prohibited:
- ā Swollen or damaged batteries
- ā Leaking batteries
- ā Large quantities (>20 units)
š„ļø Electronics with Sensitive Data
Permitted but recommendations:
- ā Computers, phones, tablets
- ā Hard drives, USBs
Important:
- š Wipe all data before recycling
- š Format hard drives
- š Log out of all accounts
- š Remove SIM cards
Responsibility: Customer is responsible for wiping their data. ReciGo is not responsible for undeleted information.
šŖ Glass and Mirrors
Permitted with precautions:
- ā Windows
- ā Mirrors
- ā Glass panes
Requirements:
- Wrap with cardboard or bubble wrap
- Clearly mark "FRAGILE"
- Inform the helper
- Help with loading (heavy and dangerous)
Prohibited:
- ā Broken glass without packaging
- ā Unprotected mirrors
šŗ Objects of Sentimental Value
Permitted but not recommended:
- Family antiques
- Irreplaceable objects
- Personal mementos of high emotional value
Reason: Although the helper will be careful, there's always risk of damage. ReciGo insurance only covers monetary value, not sentimental value.
Recommendation: Transport irreplaceable objects yourself.

ā Accepted for Recycling
Paper and cardboard:
- Cardboard boxes
- Newspapers and magazines
- Office paper
- Books and notebooks
Plastic:
- Plastic bottles
- Plastic containers
- Plastic bags (clean)
Metal:
- Aluminum cans
- Food cans
- Small metal scrap
- Small appliances
Electronics:
- Phones, tablets, computers
- Appliances
- Cables and chargers
- Batteries (well packaged)
Furniture:
- Wooden furniture
- Metal furniture
- Mattresses (some recycling centers)
ā Not Accepted for Recycling on ReciGo
Hazardous waste:
- Paints and varnishes
- Motor oils
- Leaking car batteries
- Broken fluorescent tubes
- Asbestos
Special waste:
- Tires (take to garage)
- Construction debris (>100kg)
- Industrial waste
- Medical waste
Organic:
- Food scraps
- Garden waste (leaves, branches)
- Soil and sand
Where to take special waste:
- Municipal recycling center: Accepts almost everything (free)
- Specialized stores: Batteries, light bulbs, electronics
- Garages: Tires, motor oils
- Pharmacies: Expired medications

šØ Consequences of Transporting Prohibited Materials
For Customers
If you post a job with prohibited materials:
- First time: Warning + job cancelled
- Second time: Temporary suspension (7 days)
- Third time: Account permanently deactivated
Additional:
- Possible report to authorities (hazardous waste, drugs, weapons)
- Full legal responsibility
- No payment refunds
For Helpers
If you're asked to transport prohibited materials:
- Reject the job immediately
- Report the customer through the app
- Document with photos (if safe to do so)
If you discover prohibited materials upon arrival:
- Don't load them
- Inform customer you can't transport them
- Cancel the job (no penalty)
- Report to ReciGo
Protection: Helpers are protected if they reject jobs with prohibited materials, even after accepting.

Before Posting a Job
Ask yourself:
- Is it legal to possess this object?
- Is it dangerous for transport?
- Does it require a special license to transport?
- Is it on the prohibited list?

- Contact support
- Ask at your local recycling center
General Rule
Permitted: If you can carry it yourself on public transport, it's probably permitted on ReciGo.
Prohibited: If it requires a special vehicle, license, or is illegal, it's prohibited.
