Understanding the payment process in ReciGo is essential for managing your payments. This guide explains exactly when your card is held and charged during a job's lifecycle.

Guaranteed protection
You only pay when the job is completed correctly. Until then, your money is held but not charged.

When you post a job on ReciGo:
- ā Create the listing for free
- ā Nearby helpers are notified
- ā Receive offers with no commitment
- ā Your card is not touched
Status in your bank: No movements
Accepting Helper: Pre-authorization
When you accept a helper (or their offer):
What is a pre-authorization?
It's a temporary hold of money on your card:
- The bank "freezes" the amount
- It doesn't leave your account yet
- Reduces your available credit
- Lasts up to 7 days (if not captured)

It's not a real charge
The pre-authorization does NOT leave your account. It's like when you get gas and the pump holds ā¬100 until it knows how much you filled.
During the Job: Active Hold
While the helper performs the work:

Completing Job: Payment Capture
When the helper marks the job as completed:
Automatic process
- ReciGo validates proof photos exist
- Pre-authorization is captured
- Charge becomes effective
- Money leaves your account
- Transferred to helper (price - commission)
- ReciGo collects its fee

You have 24 hours after completion to open a dispute if something isn't right. After that, the payment is final.

What happens to the pre-authorization?

ReciGo releases the hold immediately, but each bank takes different time to reflect money availability.
Last-minute cancellation (<2h before)
According to our Cancellation Policy:

Open Dispute
If you (or the helper) open a dispute:
- Extended hold: Money remains held
- Investigation: ReciGo reviews the case (3-5 business days)
- Resolution:
- In your favor: Full release
- In helper's favor: Full capture
- Split: Partial capture (50%)
During dispute
While there's an active dispute:
- Money is "frozen"
- May convert from pre-auth to real charge (to avoid expiration)
- Refunded if you win the dispute
Failed Payment on Capture
If capture fails (e.g., insufficient funds after):
What happens?
- First time: Automatic retry in 24h
- Second time: Retry in 48h
- Third time: Job marked as unpaid
Consequences
- ā ļø Helper doesn't receive their money
- ā ļø Your account is marked as "payment failed"
- ā ļø You can't post new jobs until resolved
- ā ļø Possible account suspension
