ReciGo App Permissions

ReciGo requests certain permissions to function correctly. This guide explains what permissions the app needs, why it requests them, and how to manage them.

📍 Location

Why Does ReciGo Need It?

Required for:

• See jobs near you
• Calculate distances between pickup and delivery
• Show your location on the map (helpers)
• Find helpers nearby (customers)
• Navigation during active jobs

How it's used:

• Your location updates only when you use the app
• Not tracked in background (except during active jobs)
• Only shared with users you have an active job with

Types of Location Permission

iOS (iPhone/iPad)

Never:

• ❌ The app won't work correctly
• Not recommended

While Using the App:

• ✅ Recommended for customers
• Location detected only when app is open

Always:

• ✅ Recommended for helpers
• Allows notifications for nearby jobs
• Updates your location for customers

Precise Location:

• ✅ Enable for best experience
• Allows exact addresses

Android

Deny:

• ❌ The app won't work correctly

Only This Time:

• 🔶 You'll have to grant permission each time
• Not recommended

While Using the App:

• ✅ Recommended for customers
• Location detected only when app is open

All the Time:

• ✅ Recommended for helpers
• Allows notifications for nearby jobs

How to Enable/Disable Location

iOS:

1. Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services
2. Find ReciGo
3. Select your preference

Android:

1. Settings → Apps → ReciGo
2. Permissions → Location
3. Select your preference

📷 Camera

Why Does ReciGo Need It?

Required for:

• Upload object photos when posting jobs
• Take profile photo
• Document pickup/delivery (proof of work)
• Upload recycling proof (photo of recycling center ticket)

How it's used:

• Only activates when you tap "Take photo"
• Doesn't take photos automatically
• Photos upload only when you confirm

Alternative Without Camera Permission

If you don't grant camera permission:

• ✅ You can upload photos from gallery
• ❌ You can't take photos directly in the app

To work without camera:

1. Take photos with native camera app
2. Then upload from gallery in ReciGo

How to Enable/Disable Camera

iOS:

1. Settings → ReciGo
2. Enable Camera

Android:

1. Settings → Apps → ReciGo
2. Permissions → Camera
3. Allow

🖼️ Gallery / Photos

Why Does ReciGo Need It?

Required for:

• Select existing photos for jobs
• Upload profile photo from gallery
• Save job photos to your gallery (optional)

How it's used:

• Only accesses photos you select
• Doesn't scan or upload photos automatically

Modern Permissions (iOS 14+, Android 11+)

You can choose:

• Limited access: Only photos you select
• Full access: Entire gallery

Recommendation: Limited access is sufficient and more private.

How to Enable/Disable Gallery

iOS:

1. Settings → ReciGo
2. Photos → Select:
   • Selected Photos
   • All Photos

Android:

1. Settings → Apps → ReciGo
2. Permissions → Files and media
3. Allow

🔔 Notifications

Why Does ReciGo Need It?

Important for:

• New job alerts (helpers)
• Chat messages
• Active job updates
• Payment reminders
• Important account changes

How it's used:

• Real-time push notifications
• You can customize which notifications to receive

Types of Notifications

Critical (recommended to enable):

• 🔴 Helper accepts/cancels job
• 🔴 Customer sends message
• 🔴 Job completed
• 🔴 Payment received/failed

Important (recommended to enable):

• 🟡 New jobs in your area
• 🟡 Rating reminder
• 🟡 Active job changes

Optional (you can disable):

• 🟢 Offers and promotions
• 🟢 Tips and tricks
• 🟢 App updates

How to Enable/Disable Notifications

iOS:

1. Settings → Notifications → ReciGo
2. Enable Allow Notifications
3. Customize:
   • Sounds
   • Badges
   • Banners

Android:

1. Settings → Apps → ReciGo
2. Notifications
3. Enable/disable by category

🎤 Microphone

Why Does ReciGo Need It?

Optional for:

• Voice messages in chat (coming soon)
• Support by call (coming soon)

Currently: ReciGo does NOT request microphone permission because it has no audio features.

If it requests it, there may be an error. Contact support.

📞 Phone

Why Does ReciGo Need It?

Android only:

• Read phone state (to detect incoming calls and pause notifications)
• Does NOT make automatic calls
• Does NOT read your contact list

On iOS: This permission is not requested.

How It Works

When you receive a call while using ReciGo:

• The app detects the call
• Pauses sound notifications
• Resumes when you finish the call

You can deny this permission without affecting main functionality.

🔐 Privacy and Security

What ReciGo Does with Your Data

✅ DOES:

• Store data securely (encrypted)
• Use location only for app functionality
• Comply with GDPR and data protection laws
• Allow you to export/delete your data

❌ Does NOT:

• Sell your data to third parties
• Track location without your knowledge
• Access photos without your permission
• Share data with advertisers
