Getting started as a ReciGo helper

Becoming a ReciGo helper is your opportunity to earn extra money with flexible hours. This guide explains everything you need to know to take your first steps.

What is a ReciGo helper?

A helper is a private person with a vehicle who accepts transport, recycling or pick-up jobs posted by customers in the app.

Requirements to be a helper

Mandatory requirements

  1. Be over 18 years old
  2. Have a ReciGo account - Create account
  3. Own vehicle - Car, van, motorcycle (depending on jobs)
  4. Valid driver's license
  5. Spanish ID (DNI) or NIE
  6. Spanish bank account (IBAN)
  7. Spanish phone number (+34)
  • Comprehensive vehicle insurance
  • Experience loading/transporting objects
  • Knowledge of local recycling centers
  • Regular availability (at least 10h/week)

Activation process (step by step)

Step 1: Create your account

If you don't have an account yet:

  1. Download the ReciGo app
  2. Sign up with email or Apple/Google
  3. Verify your phone

Step 2: Complete your profile

  1. Go to Account → Edit profile
  2. Upload a clear profile photo
  3. Add your location/work area
  4. Write a brief description (optional)

Tips for your profile:

  • Professional photo (clear face, no sunglasses)
  • Friendly description: "Driver with van, specialized in small moves"
  • Indicate languages you speak

Step 3: Add vehicle information

  1. Go to Account → Helper settings
  2. Tap "Add vehicle"
  3. Select type:
    • 🚗 Small car (back seats)
    • 🚙 Medium car (large trunk)
    • 🚐 Small van
    • 🚚 Large van
  4. Optional: Upload vehicle photo

What jobs can I accept according to my vehicle?

Step 4: Stripe Connect verification (KYC)

The most important step - without this you CANNOT get paid.

  1. Go to Account → Helper settings
  2. Tap "Complete verification"
  3. You'll be redirected to Stripe Connect
  4. Provide:
    • ID/NIE (clear photo of both sides)
    • Date of birth
    • Complete address
    • IBAN (bank account)
    • Phone number
  5. Wait 1-2 business days for approval

Verification statuses:

  • 🟡 Pending - Stripe is reviewing your documents
  • đŸŸĸ Verified - You can now accept jobs and get paid!
  • 🔴 Rejected - There's a problem with your documents

If you're rejected:

  1. Read the reason in the Stripe email
  2. Fix the problem (blurry photo, incorrect data, etc.)
  3. Resubmit documentation

Step 5: Activate "Available for jobs"

Once verified:

  1. Go to Helper settings
  2. Turn on the "Available for jobs" switch
  3. Set your search radius (5km - 50km)
  4. ✅ You'll start receiving job notifications!

How payments work

When you get paid

  1. Accept job → Customer pre-authorizes payment
  2. Complete job → Upload proof photo
  3. Customer confirms → Payment is captured automatically
  4. ReciGo transfers → Money reaches your Stripe account
  5. Stripe pays → Transfer to your bank (1-2 days)

ReciGo commission

ReciGo charges a 15% commission on the job price.

Example:

  • Job price: â‚Ŧ50
  • ReciGo commission of 15%)
  • You receive: â‚Ŧ40

The commission is deducted automatically before the transfer.

Payment schedule

  • Capture: When you complete the job
  • Transfer to Stripe: Immediate
  • Payment to your bank: 1-2 business days
  • Frequency: Automatic after each job

Tax obligations

âš ī¸ IMPORTANT: As a helper you are self-employed or freelance.

Do I need to register as self-employed?

It depends on your activity:

You DON'T need to if:

  • You work occasionally (< 30 jobs/year)
  • You earn less than â‚Ŧ2,000/year gross
  • It's sporadic activity without regularity

You DO need to if:

  • You work regularly (several times per week)
  • You earn more than â‚Ŧ2,000/year
  • It's your main or regular secondary activity

Your first jobs

How to find jobs

  1. "Home" tab - View map with nearby jobs
  2. "Jobs" tab - List of available jobs
  3. Filters:
    • Distance (5-50km)
    • Minimum price
    • Job type
    • Size

How to accept a job

Option 1: Fixed price

  1. You see a job you're interested in
  2. Tap "Accept job"
  3. Customer confirms you
  4. ✅ Job assigned

Option 2: Make an offer

  1. You see a job with "Open to offers"
  2. Tap "Make offer"
  3. Indicate your price and availability
  4. Wait for customer response
  5. If they accept → Job assigned

Tips for your first jobs

  1. Start small - Accept simple jobs at first
  2. Read details carefully - Make sure you understand what needs to be done
  3. Ask if unsure - Use chat before accepting
  4. Be punctual - Arrive on time for pickup/delivery
  5. Communicate - Notify if there's a delay or problem
  6. Ask for help - Customer should help load if it's heavy
  7. Take photos - Document everything (pickup, delivery, recycling)

Build your reputation

Rating system

After each job, the customer will rate you:

  • ⭐ 1-5 stars
  • Optional comment

Your average rating appears on your profile.

  • ✅ Be friendly and professional

Frequently asked questions

How much can I earn as a helper?

It depends on:

  • Your availability
  • Vehicle type (large van earns more)
  • Area (big cities have more demand)
  • Rating (5 stars get more jobs)

Estimates:

  • Occasional (5h/week): â‚Ŧ100-200/month
  • Part-time (15h/week): â‚Ŧ400-800/month
  • Full-time (40h/week): â‚Ŧ1,500-3,000/month

Can I reject jobs?

Yes, you can reject any job without penalty. But:

  • If you accept and then cancel → affects your rating
  • Cancel only if absolutely necessary

What happens if I have an accident?

ReciGo does NOT cover vehicle accidents. You must have:

  • Vehicle insurance (mandatory)
  • Comprehensive insurance (recommended)
  • Inform your insurer that you use the car for work

What objects can I NOT transport?

Prohibited materials:

  • ❌ Hazardous waste
  • ❌ Illegal substances
  • ❌ Weapons
  • ❌ Live animals (except special agreement)
  • ❌ Perishable food without refrigeration

Can I have a helper with me?

Yes, you can take someone with you to help load. But:

  • You are legally responsible
  • Only you can communicate with the customer in the app
  • The rating is yours
  • You cannot subcontract jobs
